16 weeks

Many people have been wanting a pregnancy update as well as I have been wanting to document SOMETHING and have just been too busy (alright lazy) to do anything. I'll give a quick update from the doctor's appointment I had on Friday and then I had found a little survey thing on multiple others' blogs and decided to follow suit.

At the doctor's appt on Friday I was 15 weeks, 6 days. Blood pressure was great, had lost a couple more pounds (who knew that getting preggo would help me to lose weight) total of 12.5 so far. The doctor says everything is great as long as I'm getting the nutrients I and the baby need. I have been eating better now than I ever had. It's been nice that I haven't really been wanting sweets and even when I do want them, I only eat about half of what I normally would have. Anyway, back to the appt. Glucose levels were great and baby had a heartbeat of 150 bpm (it's always been a little high), so the doctor joked, 'Well if you like the wives' tales, you are either having an active boy or a sedentary girl.' I just can't wait to find out! Exactly 1 month today is our scheduled ultrasound. Posted a poll to the right for those who want to guess.

Ok, on to the little survey thingie:

Weekly Survey ~ 16 weeks

How far along: 16 weeks; 2 days
Total weight gain/loss: -12.5
Maternity Clothes: I still have a nice pair of pants that I can wear (they were just too big before). Other slacks require a maternity band. Not even touching jeans and I do have two pairs of elastic band maternity pants I COULD wear, but I am refusing to go there yet. Though I do hate that I just look like I've gained weight right now, and that I don't look preggo. =(
Stretch Marks: I think all my current stretch marks were there before. Trying to keep a close eye on them, but there were just too many before from all my weight gain.
Sleep: Last night was rough. My hips and butt are getting sick of sleeping solely on my side, so I got a butt cramp when I tried to move last night (man is it sore today!) Other than that, still managing to sleep ok, waking up about 4 times a night.
Best moment this week: Getting to hear the heartbeat for the first time. Every other appointment I have had an ultrasound, so the bpm was always taken from that. Don't get me wrong, it is as amazing to see the baby, if not more so, as to hear the heartbeat, but that was still cool too.
Movement: Being a first time mom, I am at the point that I can't tell what I feel is the baby or other bodily functions. I think I have felt it a couple times, but couldn't tell you for sure. Hopefully I will only have to give it a couple more weeks.
Food Cravings: I don't really have too many cravings. At least not more so than before I was pregnant. During the first trimester all I really wanted was steak, fruit and salty things. I still want pickle juice on occasion and there was a really emotional incident a couple weeks ago with apple juice, but nothing really consistent.
Gender: February 18th, we'll find out!
Labor Signs: Thankfully nothing. Scary if I did this soon.
Belly Button in or out: still in as could be...think the extra padding and insulation may have something to do with that.
What I miss: We have been trying to get pregnant for over a year now, and before I was pregnant, I had absolutely no problems with the whole no alcohol thing (not really a big drinker), but ever since around 5 weeks, I have been wanting a margarita, on the rocks, extra salt, heavy on the tequilla, soooo bad. Booo.
What I am looking forward to: Having the office cleaned out so we can turn it into a nursery.
Milestones: Ummm...nothing really. Stayed up til 11 the other night. Woot!
Weekly Wisdom: Yeah, I fear this blurb will always be considerably lacking.
Pictures: I may get up the nerve later on to post a pic, but as of right now, there is no way I am coming close to putting my pic on here. I have taken two. One twelve weeks and one just on Saturday, but all it looks like is fat, so currently not going to share.
