We're having another generation of geeks!

I'm pregnant! Yay! Although it's a few days early, we have made it through the first trimester :D (Well, on Saturday we will). I saw the doctor on Thursday, had an ultrasound and she says everything looks great. Baby measured 12 weeks at that point, when I was technically 11 weeks, 5 days, so it measured 2 days big and had a hearbeat of 154 bpm. Official due date is July 3rd, so we'll see if I get a birthday present this coming year. :D

CPA

So, I have been having some conversations with my boss lately, and am seriously considering digging straight into studying for my cpa. I was going to wait until the beginning of the year, but I don't know anymore.

Once I start, you have to pass all the exams within a rolling 18-month timeframe. It would be nice to have it done before we have our first child, but at the same time, I liked the idea of a break from studying.

Any thoughts?

Graduation BBQ

These have been a long time coming, but here are some pics from my graduation bbq on May 30th. I can't get them to format correctly, but the texts are for the pictures below them.

This one's my favorite. My niece Kendal.

My handsome brother, Jason and my step-mom, Connie.

My other brother, Kyle holding my niece.

Myself with Kendal. (Do you see a trend? We don't get to see her that often, so we took LOTS of photos.)

My cousin's youngest, Cohen.

His only daughter, Kira

Kendal again.

As much as I don't like them being on here, below is the only picture you will see of me in my current state. Working on the weight loss.

Emma being the cutie she is, with my dad and his wife, Connie in the background.

My graduation cake. Thanks Michelle!

Group shot 1

The hostest with the mostest. My beautiful sister, Michelle. (Don't ask me why she is squinting against the glare of the sun with her sunglasses on top of her head.)

The wonderful family I married into!

Group Photo 2

My bestest with her two sons (yes, two). Quay is on the chair below her and Vincent is below her plate.

I don't know why, but I really liked this shot. My husband is in the foreground and people/house in the back.

Kendal once more. The perfect way to begin and end the post. =D

Group Pic

It's been a while since I posted an update.

This picture was taken on May 10th. Mary Lou was heading to her 50th class reunion and wanted a picture of her with all the kids.

MS Walk 2009

The MS Walk is coming up! On April 18th, I will be participating in the MS Walk here in Boise.

My aunt has had multiple sclerosis (MS) for as long as I can remember, but the disease hadn't affected me much until 5 years ago when my oldest sister was diagnosed. Now I am reminded all the time of the effects such a disease can have on someone.

The first time I saw my sister walking with a cane was when she was only 29 years old. Can you imagine having to use a cane when you hadn't even hit your 30th birthday yet?! Although there hasn't been a cure developed, doctors are getting closer and closer every year.

If you would like more information on MS, please look at the local Idaho Chapter's webpage.

http://main.nationalmssociety.org/site/PageServer?pagename=IDI_homepage

Otherwise, please help me by making a donation or participating in the walk yourself! You can donate in my name at my personal fundraising webpage.

Also, there is a link to sign up for the walk on that webpage as well.

Thanks guys!

Catch up

I haven't posted for a while and felt as though I needed to catch up. I haven't really taken many pictures lately, but I have a few I would like to share.
The first few are of my adorable niece. Her daddy came over from Twin Falls for a week and needed a ride back, so my husband, mom and I volunteered to take him back so we could see Kendal. Jason just finished chemo a few weeks before these pics and is still one of the most handsome men on the planet!
She was soooo sleepy. We had kept her up two hours past her normal naptime and as an extremely regulated child, it became tough.
Daddy and Kendal

Daddy was playing with her. She had missed him the week he was away.

She didn't want to lay down, but I would tickle her face softly and she would turn into a statue.
When we first got there, she was feeding herself some of those Gerber Graduate Raviolis. I think more made it onto her stomach rather than in it.
Colton's birthday was March 8th. He wanted everyone to go see one of his games (him dribbling) and then eat cake and pizza after.
As far back as February, my youngest nephew turned 5 (far left, he's getting so big), so these were pictures of his party. He has everyone put to work getting his present out of their packages. Also pictured is his brothers Tristan & Taj (Orange shirt & light blue on the floor), his mother, Michelle (my sister) in the background, my husband Andy next to Tristan in Orange, his father, Justin & my cousin's youngest son, Cohen exploring the boxes.
Trayton got a new "piggy bank." It was electronic and sometimes when you put money in him, it would "poop" it out the bottom. It was funny!

My cousin's daughter Kira. Isn't she adorable?

There were a lot more people there, but these seemed to be the only ones I managed to get pictures of.

Finally a picture of Cohen. He looks so much like his daddy.

Beware!

Beware! It can be rather addicting, however there is a Woot Off going!

Normally the site below will post one item per day and once that is sold out, there is no more buying until the next day when a new item is posted. BUT, occasionally, they will have what is called a Woot-Off. The item will sell until sold out and then a new item will be posted. The items are 'geek' items (electronics, games, etc), and occasionally they throw in a grab bag item. You could get a flashlight, or win the grab bag lottery and get a PS3.

Random Ramblings

This semester (my last one :D) has been sooo busy. Each of my classes have been assigning so much homework, but somehow I have managed to keep up. It amazes me considering I would much rather just sit on the couch and read...le sigh.

I got a new picture of Kendal the other day. Kendal is my brother's daughter. They live in Twin Falls so I don't get to see them that often, but I frequently ask for picture updates. This one is funny cause they had her hair in pigtails the night before and didn't have time to give her a bath before a visit to the doctor, so she is still in her jammies and her hair is uncontrollable. It makes me giggle.

There is a girl's night tonight. I always have the best intentions to actually make something to bring along, but last night class lasted the full three hours so I didn't get home until around 9:30 and I really didn't feel like making snacks at that time, so I will probably go grab a fruit tray and some Valentine's cookies. I really can cook, I promise, just never have the time.

I am sooooo looking forward to Friday! I normally have night class, but this week was a scheduled "Flex Day" so no class, so I decided to take advantage of that. I used to get my hair done at a salon and decided to grow it out and haven't been for a while, so...the other day I got a postcard in the mail saying something like, "We haven't seen you for a while, as an incentive, please enjoy 50% off your next service." Yay, 50% off! So I scheduled a 90 min massage and will only have to pay $45 for it!!! YAY!

Also, this weekend is a 3 day weekend! How cool is that?!

One last thing. If you haven't ever checked out the scrapbooking company, Close to my Heart, I HIGHLY recommend it! I am in love with their products and will probably become a consultant when I am done with school.

Happy Wednesday!

Computer Woes

I sat down to do homework this weekend (it was a concerted effort on my part) and low and behold...a blue screen, then black, then nothing. I reboot, managed to get a little more done, and then the cycle repeats. We reformatted the hard drive. Things were good for a while, but then it started again...le sigh...hardware damage somewhere. Good thing it is still under warranty, now we just have to go through the RMA process. Poor Andy will have to deal with me borrowing his laptop for homework for a while.

We are still alive

So, I was told recently that it has been a long time since I posted last and indeed, it has been even longer than I have imagined.

Things are going really well for Andy and I. I just began my last semester of school and am anxious for it to be over. Andy received a new position with Supervalu last May. He is now a Data Analyst for the Northwest region, and I just received a promotion two weeks ago and am now a Staff Accountant!

Although this is about all I can post right now, I will make a concerted effort to post more frequently and update pictures, etc.

Ta ta for now
