6 months

Owen had a doctor's appointment this last Friday for his 6 month checkup. He is 27.5 in long, which is the 85th percentile. Yet he only weighs 15lb 13oz, which is only the 15th percentile for his age...the doctor says he's doing great and growing as per his growth chart. So, he is long and skinny and will probably remain that way for a while yet.

Owen has soooo much energy. He's not quite crawling with his arms and legs (though he has been balancing on all 4s the last few days), but he is army crawling to get where he wants. I fear when he can move faster. I fear he will learn how to crawl and just won't stop after that.

We love him so much and couldn't imagine our lives without him. Andy and I joke how we ordered a child on easy mode, cause he is really such a good baby. He was an early smiler (first smile was around 3-4 weeks) and just hasn't stopped since. Even when fussy, you can still coerce a smile out of him.

He loves to cuddle with Mama in the mornings and play with Daddy in the evenings. He repeats 'Dadadadada' for you, but if you try to get him to say 'Mama', he'll try to give you a kiss. Once he's learned to roll over, I can't get him to sleep on his back any longer. I'll flip him onto his back and a few minutes later, he'll flip back over. He likes books. Andy and I joke about his 'reading corner', because he'll have a book in his hands and decide to roll over to it and just sit and play with the book. If he fusses in the middle of the night, and you have to help him find his binky, he will trap you there with him, and once he has a grip on your hand, it's hard to get him to release. He's even wrapped his legs around Daddy's arm in the attempt to get him to stay.

He no longer hates the car rides, but rather will watch the outside or fall asleep. We'll have to get new car seats soon because he's getting so tall. The infant carrier will only last so much longer. He still sleeps in Mom and Dad's room, beside the bed, but that will have to change soon because he's beginning to pull himself up onto objects and the bassinet isn't able to be lowered.
That will be a sad, sad day for Mama. I love having him so close and will miss him at nights.

As you can see from the 5 month post, he's been eating his cereal, but we've also started him on other foods as well. He now has 3 meals a day, in addition to his milk. He now eats Sweet Potatoes, Green Beans, Carrots, Apples, Rice Cereal and Oatmeal. We're slowly adding new things and keeping an eye out for any sign of his father's allergies.

There's so much more I would love to record, but that will have to do for now. I will try to get on here more frequently, but for now, enjoy the pictures. Most are from Christmas.

5 months

So, now that my baby is 6 months old, I will load up all his 5 months pictures, but since he is 6 months now, I will not post any details in this post, just pics.

Hi Dad!
First bite of cereal

Not thrilled with the cereal to begin with.

Hmmm, not that bad!

A couple days later, he LOVES the cereal!
