CPA

So, I have been having some conversations with my boss lately, and am seriously considering digging straight into studying for my cpa. I was going to wait until the beginning of the year, but I don't know anymore.

Once I start, you have to pass all the exams within a rolling 18-month timeframe. It would be nice to have it done before we have our first child, but at the same time, I liked the idea of a break from studying.

Any thoughts?

How likely would you be to do it after you have a child? Or maybe how quickly after?

Hi Andrea!

Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog. I didn't have your blog address.. but now I do since you commented on mine ;)

So, once the first child comes, the idea of school is anything but appealing. And the older they get, the harder it gets to go back. So, I think it's a good idea to just start it now. Even if you get pregnant tomorrow.. that gives you a 9 month head start before the baby gets here. Then, if it all happens that quick.. you may have to take a month or 2 off while adjusting to sleep and baby.. but after that, the baby will still be sleeping for a large part of the day and you can get some good studying in then.. then finish before it's a year ;) My husband and I have done the school thing with our daughter and definitely agree.. how much easier it would have been to at least have finished when she was a baby! Hope that helps ;) And just think.. once you're done.. you get a PERMANENT break from school ;)
